I Love the Weekend

Alrighty, it's been a while since my last post....psych :)


Fabruary 4th we went to a Bebo Norman (my 3rd) concert with special guest Adam Cappa....one word to describe Adam Cappa: AWESOME!!! A new fav.....his music has real meaning that's not just some cheasy lyrics with a bunch of guitar (although there is some good guitar). Check him out...if your like Abandon (another one of my favs), you'll like him. If you've never heard of either...shame on you! Well, Carlie is officially playing for the symphony! She got her dress and had her photo shoot for the newspaper...March 10th! All my peeps should come! The symphony will also be playing another (maybe 2...not sure) song that Carlie says is really cool....so it will be fun.


Good news! I can start running again....yaaa! Well, only 1/2-3/4 mile, but still...it's progress :) I love my Nike+ app....great! Speaking of running, there's this awesome 5K where at random (maybe marked...not sure) spots in the race, they have collored paint or something like that spray out at you form the side...so at the end, you just look like a magical rainbow. It's AWESOME! It's called the color run (haha...that was sarcastic laughter). Watch this preveiw vid...it's come near us! Maybe i'll run it someday.... :)

Another running thing: these awesome running tights that show all the muscles of you legs., like it's your leg's w/o the skin....here's a pic:

I'm really considering these....just kidding. Well, the again I can practice identifying muscles :) SO maybe i will. Except they're $75....yikes. IDK.....

Hey y'all (even though I'm from CA I still love saying that :D)So...it's February! wow....feels like Christmas was a few weeks ago. But anyways, lots of deals at Roasters in February....like: $2 White Rocket's on Tursdays all month! Best drink ever! :P

They look better in person....the pictures stink. Still, I know i'm not that good but I still love drawing! :) I think because of my love of drawing I could bcome a much better artist. I plan on learning how to paint soon.

On Tuesday, my brother Ben had a bball game....they lost :( To "The Club" (The Boys and Girls club). It was kind of cool becuase I think it was their first win. Ever. :P The funny thing is we crushed them all of our other games, scoring about twice as much as them. But the finals score was 39-34. :( The best shot was when one of the guys on our team, Jacob, shot the ball just as the timer to end the game went off and made it :) It was almost a three-pointer, but it was super cool anyway :P

Sad news....my grandparents had to put their dog, Summer, down on Monday because of kidney failure. :'( So sad. She was a yellow lab and was 9 years old. She had had a tumor on one of her paws and had to have one of her toes (who knew dogs had toes?!?!) amputated, but she got used to it soon and could walk/run just fine. I think they knew it was coming soon, but we're all still super sad. I only got to see her when we visited them in the summer of 2009 for a few weeks. She was great....

Well, not much to tell......untill next time. Double rainbows all the way! Yeah, yeah ah ah ah!! :P

A Day of Rest and Surprises

Yesterday was the 50 year aniverary if my piano teacher's (Judy Buttles) participation in the music ministry at Kennewick Church of the Nazarene (she started when she was 9). It was also her 59th bday (all though I swear she couldn't be older then 40) so as a surprise, a lady at her church got some of her current and past students to present roses to her to honor her work at the church. Mrs. Buttles didn't know anything about it so she was very surprised. It was very cool :)
For those who don't know her story, here's a very short version. In 2005, she was driving and her car flipped compltely over. The pinky finger and thumb of her left hand were severed off and there was a large whole through her left wrist. She was taken to a hospital in Spokane, but the surgeon said the cound not even attach the fingers back on, let alone save her ability to move her fingers. Not accepting that answer, she went to a larger hospital in Seattle and the doctor said he would try to reattach her fingers, but said she probably wouldn't be able to move her fingers, or if she could, she qouldn't be able to move them independently. He said her piano days were over. She had surgery on her hand, and it went well. They fixed the hole in her wrist and reattached her fingers. While she was still in the hospital, she started hand thearapy. It was extremely painfu l for her and she could sometimes only just barely move the tips of her finger, though they all moved at the same time. She was extremely discouraged, but the thearapist said it was amazing that she could do what she was doing with her injured hand. She had excruciating pain in her hand/wrist that left her taking huge doses of pain killers. But one day, almost instantly the pain almost completely subsided and she was able to move her fingers much more then before. She was praising God through it all, and soon was starting to practice piano with her working fingers. In a few months, she had her last follow up appointment with the doctors. She brought a dvd woth her that she showed them. It was of her playing Bach, Mozart, and many other composers' music, with all of her fingers. The doctors were speachless, unable to fathom how she could do it. God had healed her hand, though it took a little while to get up to speed,the only word she could use to describe it was a miracle.
I'm honored to be taught by an amazing Christian women who's life has been used to reflect God's glory and goodness. I love you Mrs. Buttles! Thank you SOOO much for all you've done helping me to grow and use my musical talent and use it for God's glory!

How I love TV viewage :-{D

Well, I just watched the movie Dolphin Tail for the first time. It was pretty good....makes me miss summer :( I hate winter (as in the season :P). The only thing is they play the song "I'm Yours" (I think that's what it's called....but I wouldn't know) and it was not a sensored version nor was it in the backround.....I mean c'mon, it's a kids movie! Children (nor anybody else, as a matter of fact) do NOT need to hear that kind of language. It's kind of disturbing that they're putting that kind of stuff in kid's movies. But other then that, I would recomend it if you have you remote handy.

I also saw the pre-quel to the "Love Comes Softely" series called Love Begins.....two words to describe it: EPIC FAIL! It was terrible....it moved sooo slow and the actors were pretty bad. My dog can act better then they did. But any-who, the rest of the series is OK if you like romances (not exactly the kind of movie I like). There was a pretty OK fist fight at the beginning but after that.....well, lets just say your popcorn will become extremely fascinating :D But now I am off to watch Little Dorrit....oh boy. I like some of it, but...eh....it can be entertaining for a while. Their Brittish accents are cool, LOL. That's about it though.....

Starting my blog!!

Well, i'm still amazed I actually got around to making this blog....it's taken about 2 years, LOL! :) The reason I'm starting a blog is so that, well.....i really don't have much of a reason. But i shall come up with one! Oh, I guess one reason is to convert all you Owl City haters....mwahaha! :P I shall prevail, just wait! But enough blabbing, lets get to some real stuff....

My Family Adventures

Last weekend, my sister Carlie competed in a local concerto competition. For those who don't know, a concertio is a classical music piece played with an orchestra only there is one instrument that is the "main" instrument that plays the melody most of the time. My sister played on the piano accompanied by our piano teacher, Judy Buttles on a second piano. There were many different instruments competing, but Carlie was one of the 2 overall winners of the competition. She will get to play with the Mid-Columbia Symphony on March 10. We're especially excited because our grandparents are coming up from California to see her. She's never played with a symphony, so she's super pumped. Hope y'all can come see her! One thing that really stinks though is the Tri-City Herald totally messed up the whole story on the competition.....they didn't even get the dates right! Epic failure.....oh well, who trusts reporters anyway?

So in March, Thousand Foot Krutch's new album, The End Is Where We Begin, is coming out. Some songs were avalible early, and I have one word to describe it so far: AMAZING!!! Here's two of the best songs:

I don't think i'll survive waiting that long for it to come out.....another album I'm stoked about is Britt Nicoles album, Gold, coming out March 27. This song is great too:

The only thing is that at the beginning it sounds Taylor Swift-ish....yuk. :) But still, it's great.

Owl City is coming out with one too.....that'll be awesome!
