Graduation Chaos
Tomorrow os a memorable day for us: my sister, Carlie's, graduation party! She graduated from highschool (and 2 years of CBC) and we're so excited but this is the most hectic time i've ever witnessed. My poor mother..... :P Our fridge is so stocked with food I think you couldn't even fit a pea into it. No joke.
As I was randomly searching college scholorships (don't judge) I cam across the "Doodle for Google" which has 5 age groups, from K-12 grade, that design and draw a google logo. 1 winner recieves (I always have to remember the "I before E" rule on that word.....) a $15,000 scholoraship plus tons of other cool srtuff and then 4 others recieve the same stuff but "only" $5,000. The art is amazing......http://www.google.com/doodle4google/index.html. I like the ones in my age group :)
I discovered this totally awesome organization that, when to list of volenteers is cmplete, they send you 3-5 names of athletes competing in the olympics to pray for. I signed up and am waiting for my names :) I can't wait! I encourage you too sign up too. http://olympics.athletesinaction.org/prayer-strategy/ Comment on whether or not you're in :)
Lately I've been seriously training for fall racing and then freshman track in the spring. Just base training, but boy is my plan hard. It's only 3 runs/week, a speed session, tempo, and long run. Plus lots of strength training and at least 2 x-training session. I'm really working on my diet. I've read some interesting stories of runners who became vegan and their performance just jumped to a whole new level. Then I faced reality: there is NO way I can give up meat. I eat it at least 5 times a week! I LOVE IT!! :) So I decided to just focus on eating a aplnt based diet. I'm very proud that i've weaned myself off of junk food. I don't even crave it! Now to work on those treaties.....
Camp Patriot 5K: In 19 days (July 4th)! Can't wait! I don't really have a goal time.....I'll only be half-way done with my training plan at the time so no slower than 31:00 is my goal. At the end of my plan I want to finnish in under 30:00, maybe a few seconds away from 29:00. It will be hot at the CP 5K so I have to account for that. Just want to enjoy it, as it's my first 5K! :) Plus it's $25 going to a great cause! (http://www.camppatriotfunrun.org/index.html)
This. Is. EPIC.
Just thought I would brighten your day.
My aunt and uncle are looking for a "little buddy" (*cough* dog *cough*). They've applied for two dogs but they got adopted :( Theyr'e still a searchin'! I guess they're wanting a small lap-dog, leaning towards a girl. Can't wait intill they get it....um, I mean her.
Tonight we went to Anthony's......my first time! I got a bowl of clam chowder and shrimp cocktail! Yum. The shrimpies were so tine and cute. I took pics and will upload them within 3 days......(not tomorrow.....well, probably not).
OK, I have to go make the last few things for the picnic! Elvada! (That's "goodbye" in turkish.....mwahaha!)

Defying Disabilities
Today on Runners World this video was posted. It has got to be one of the most inspiring vidoes i've ever seen. Way to just run for the joy of it. This is more inspiration i'm going to get from London.
Oh boy, i'm about to make peanut butter cookies. Mmm....
Here are some very, uh, interesting captioned pics!

Well, It's been a while hasn't it?
Hello fellow blog readers!
Well, it's been so long since I last posted.....I blame it on my science exam i studies like the end of the world for. Which, by the way, I got 99.6% on! Beat that! Actually, my teacher rounded it to 100%! I was hoping for an A, but expected like and A-, which is the hoghest i've gotten. Didn't see that coming...what lovely surprises. But now science class is over, but I have school at home but that required less studying so I'll have more tome to blog! Summer here we come!
To start on the right attitude, the huge issue of purity had lately hit home for me. It is such a neglected topic and much ignored in churches that it breaks my heart to see how poeple can read such clear words in scripture and just completely ignor them. Mostly this issue is seen in teen+ aged girls. I wanted to share some verses i've read while studying 1 Timothy.
Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, [g]modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments, 10 but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness. 11 A woman must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness. 11 A woman[a] should learn in quietness and full submission.
1 Timothy 2:9-11
Here's a quote that i really love that concerns a womans heart:
"A woman's heart should be so hidden in God that a man has to seek Him just to find her.”
― Max Lucado
Oh man, that is so great....especially when girls are at that age of being interested in guys in a whole new way....
Here is a random and awesome song I literaly just discovered (as I waas typing all that other stuff).
A great band!
Well, it' been so long that I can't remember anything that i've done lately.....
thinking......
thinking......
more thinking.......
less thinking.......
Bingo!
I'm almost done w/ piano until summer break (last lesson on Friday! This mean doughnuts! Mwahaha!!!) and as i'm really into music, i want to take guitar or singing lesson from either the voice teacher of my sister or guitar teacher of my brother. I still need to mention this to my parents....oops..... ;) But anyway, I practice both alot already, I just need some professional instruction.
OK, now the science stuff begins. I've been doing research (yeas, you heard me right, science research FOR FUN) on left/right-braindness, and it is really quite interesting. Before you continue, take this simple quiz: http://www.intelliscript.net/test_area/questionnaire/questionnaire.cgi
After You finnished that and fouind out wah tyour "are" (predominately), here are some facts that you didn't know about yourself (that's supposed to be funny in more ways then one....but don't think about it too hard....unless you're an intelligent left-brainer).
If you are Left-Brained you:
Are rational
10. Are a splitter: distinction important
11. Are logical, sees cause and effect
12. Draw on previously accumulated, organized information
10. Are a lumper: connectedness important
11. Are analogic, sees correspondences, resemblances
12. Draws on unbounded qualitative patterns that are not organized into sequences, but that cluster around images.
(Note-I think a really smart left-brained person wrote this....I had to look up almost every word in a dictionary :P)

If you are Left-Brained you:
Are rational
- Respond to verbal instructions
- Problem solve by logically and sequentially looking at the parts of things
- Look at differences
- You are planned and structured
- Prefer established, certain information
- Prefer talking and writing
- Prefer multiple choice tests
- Control feelings
- Prefer ranked authority structures
10. Are a splitter: distinction important
11. Are logical, sees cause and effect
12. Draw on previously accumulated, organized information
If you are Righ-Brained you:
Are intuitive
- Respond to demonstrated instructions
- Problem solve with hunches, looking for patterns and configurations
- Look at similarities
- Are fluid and spontaneous
- Prefer elusive, uncertain information
- Prefer drawing and manipulating objects
- Prefer open ended questions
- Free with feelings
- Prefer collegial authority structures
10. Are a lumper: connectedness important
11. Are analogic, sees correspondences, resemblances
12. Draws on unbounded qualitative patterns that are not organized into sequences, but that cluster around images.

I believe it is more common for gals to be right-brained and guys to be left-brained, but this is just in general. Guirs tend to be more showing of their emotions/more emotional (not just due to hormones) and better at learning languages, which is a right side dominance. Guys are usually the opposite and are better at problem solving and math/science despite the brainecells dead due to video games.
And for my results....according to the qui, I am very left-brained (i'm totally not surprised). My score was 12 for left and 5 for right. And the numbers that apply to me for left-brained characteristics are: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (except not "talking" but yeas to "writting"), 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12. So most of them is a yes. For right-brained: 6, and 11. Not so much :) I do have musical ability (sort of) but it is classical piano, which classical music is a more of a left-brained thing. Music is usually a right-brained thing, but classical is more left-brained. I've always taken more after my dad in many ways, and he is very left-brained so i'm not surprised I am. It's funny, we got nout the old video tapes of us as little kids and just watchingme, I was always a thinker, analyzer, perfectionist, information freak, and just a plain left-brained kid. Don't get me wrong, I liked ballet and such, but onhe thinkg that strucj me was many tapes where my mom comments on my being into building blocks, duplos, legos, that sort of thing whic his really a left-brained thing. I would throw down the doll to blocks. And another tape that made me chuckle is one when I was 2 (and sooooo adorable!) and we were at the pool and while my dad was blowing up my mini pool (I asn't old enough to go in the big one) i was very interested in the water, examining my squirt bottle and just looking at the water, putting my hand in it, when my dad comments saying "she's going to be a water chemist!". Science! How very prophetic....but really, i'm going to become an orthopaedist, specializing in sports medicine. And i'm so very excited to go to college and pursue my dream!
Ah yes, I remmeber something else. I went to a Down Here, Aaron Shust, Jason Gray concert w/ my dad in Portland and it was AWESOME! They are such amazing bands with an amazing truth to share! I love going on concert daddy dates :) We plan to do it again.....This was actually the weekend after we had gone to Portland for Ben's bday! Portland 2 weeks in a row. I am loving this! Some may no know, but I LOVE Portland and want to live there (actually, I'm thinking Vancouver for the exact location but that's in the area). Not sure wh yor when I strated liking ti so much. But it is is hime to my absolute favorite place on Earth: OMSI. Well, it's tied with Magic Mountain. It's so great....all that science stuff! PLus great summer camps too.
OK, enough talk. Good Night! Until next time.....
Emma
P.S. If this is super sloppy typing, it's bcuz it's really late and i'm super tired...i'll edit later :) And feel free to comment! I love comments!

Spring Break Day 1 & 2
Hey Guys!
Today was my second day of spring break....awesome weather! This whole weak is supposed to be nice and "springy" except for the bit of rain coming...i'm hoping for some weekend showers instead of weekday....well, no rain would be better but anyway, enough weather talk.
OK, first some sad yet joyful news. Alicia Foss passed away yesterday, and just a week after her grandfather (who dies from bone cancer, after they said he would have 6 months but dies just a week later). But we know that they are rejoicing together in Heaven, with new, perfect and painless bodies alongside with fellow believers. Revelation 21:4-5 says "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Prayers for the family as they are dealing with these two deaths and Vernon Fosses (her grandfather) wife is not doing well and was in the hospital but is out now recovering from pnemonia and bronchitis. One day we will join her and rejoice in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ forever. To God be the glory in all things, life and death.
Well my day went something like this....slept in, didn't wake up till my sister was already on the road to school and my little sister was at a birthday party so I woke up to one of the rarest of the rares at our house: silence. Wow, hard just to type! LOL, so then I was doing random stuff. reading a new book I got called Running On Faith, about Jason Lester who is a Ironman AND Ultraman Triathalon/runner (for those who don't know, yes that is awesome althleticness :D very amazing...) who is paralyzed on his right arm due to a biking-car accident when he was 12. Plus he is a Christian :D Good book so far....awesome guy.
I also did some more drawing (more like somple sketches):

I really want to try one of those "negative ion" bracelets (wow, I feel so smart becuase I know exactly what that means and know the science behind how/why it works and UNDERSTAND IT!! :P). Some are fake but i'm doing research to find one that works....many runners say that the real ones do help them. Here's a popular brand, maybe fake, still looking at reviews. Kinda like the necklaces too but will probably get a bracelet. http://www.lifestrength.com/products
OK, went to the gym....pretty succesful, back is kinda giving me a mouthful and not to mention my ankle problem, but otherwise not to bad....really wish I could have a personal trainer!
We went to Taco Bell (Chalupa all the way!).....sooo yummy! I noticed the "Dorito" Taco thing....wonder if it's any good. Maybe i'll try it some daay.....in the future.... :P
Ugg, I hate it when the computer spassed out! It's doing that so much....takes me like an hour to type this up, LOL. Just being random....(yeah, blame my spelling mistakes on the computer, seriously).
Not much of a day, but today wil be busy. Science project to do, photobook to make, house to clean, shopping to do, gym, and the like.
Yeasterday was pretty lame too...runing around everywhere was just about all.
Tomorrow, on Wednesday my mom's, cousin's daughter who in 9 is having surgery for Kindney stones. One in very large (1 1/2, almost 2 cm) on the lfet side (i think....) and the other (right side) is smaller, 3 mm. Anyway, she's not in any pain which is very good, just a little nervous along with the rest of her family. They have to go to Spokane for it because there are no Pediatric Urologists in the good ol' Tri-Cities. She's very sweet and shy and she should be prefectly fine. I've never had surgery but my mom had a similar surgey for gall stones. Prayers for the fam!
Resurrection Sunday coming up....so pumped :P Very excited....

Much Needed Catch Up
Boy, have I been lazy about posting....well, It's spring break so I have no excuses!
The...10th of March? Well sometime (a while ago) I went to a MercyMe, Disciple, Sidewalk Prophets, Lecrae, Moriah Peters (she opened), some Irish Band, Hawk Nelson, and someone else I can't remmeber were there (the Rock and Worship Roadshow). It was great.
Here's some pics....
I LOVED Lecrae!
Speaking of Lecrae, he performs in Britt Nicole's new song "Ready Or Not" off her NEW CD GOLD!!! It's a really good one...she had a more hip-hop/auto-tuned type of style in this CD....a little different than her older stuff but still great. She never gets old....but my latest craze is Anthem Lights....check out these songs. Great stuff. You'll love it!
OH BOY! SPRING BREAK! We actually weren't going to have it bcuz we were all sick one week, but I only missed one day of school (easily caught up later), so when my mom told us that was going to count as our spring break, I was mad! But I finally convinced her :) So now i'm in jolly good spirits.
Well, i will finnish catching up tomorrow! Need to go to bed so I can sleep in, LOL :D
TTFN! GNSTDLTBBB!! (AKA Good Night Sleep Tight Don't Let The Bed Bugs Bite!)
P.S. Haha, i'm lauging at my sister bcuz she has to go to school at 8 in the morning! HAHA! SUFFER! :P

They're totally awesome.....
So, my dad bought a....brace yourselves....Mustang! We can drive in style....just don't ask what year :D Cuz it's an '81....yeah, ugliest year you can get. Got it bcuz it had freakishly low miles, was super clean, and in awesome condition not to mention pretty darn cheap. Plus his Saturn is pretty much done for life and he needed a new ride. But hey, how many of you can brag about having a Mustang? Not bad, i'd say....excpet it on the side of the highway bcuz he blew a radiator hose. Oops....well, not to bad. Getting it fixed. It'll be tearing up the roads in no time! :)

Gummi Magic
Okay, so who has ever seen a 26 lb. Gummi Bear? Well, you have now:
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now let's compare.....
I got one of those ones on a stick (thanks Cass!!) and it's great. When I showed my mom she just looked at me with a disgusted look and was like "do you really want to put that in your body?" and I was like "What? It's just made of butterflies and rainbows and sparkly masses that orbit the universe! HECK YEAH!!!!". I have some pics of me biting it's head off (violent, I know) that i'll post later....
Really like the way the 3rrr website has been changed.....chekc it out! 3rrr.org I want to do a duathlon on April 14th, but my mom thinks I won't be able to becuase of my injuries :( It's a 2.5 miles run, 10 mile bike ride, then another 2.5 miles of running. AH! PURE AWESOMNESS!!! I guess we're leaving it up to my PT.....crossing my fingers!
For those who haven't heard the newer Casting Crown's song "Just Another Birthday" It's really good. A new fav. Here's the music video:
Behind the song:
Here's a passage I recently read that I'm going to memorize....
Philippians 2:4-11 (NASB)
"4 Do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. 5 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. 8 Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Some food for thought, got to tell you that :) Really good stuff to think about....
Alright everybody, Rock and Worship Roadshow coming to Spokane, WA March 4th! YEAH!! I'm just going for Tenth Avenue North, Lecrae (once in a life time opportunity), Hawk Nelson, and most of all DISCIPLE!!!!! YEAH!! It'll be my first time seeing them in concert...super pumped! It will be great....I wish I could have a cast on so they could sign it.....wait, I take that back...I reall have to be careful what I wish forn becuase it always seems to come true...oops.... :P
Well, not much going on.....Bye!
